United defender Rio Ferdinand has denied the charge that the FA imposed for misconduct in connection with postings to Twitter, and has requested a personal hearing to the instutución ruler.
The charge is related to the aftermath of the case of John Terry, of which he was acquitted, when Ferdinand posted a tweet calling the Chelsea left back Ashley Cole, who was a witness for the defense, a "choc-ice" or chocolate ice cream
The term was in reference to the testimony of Cole in court, in which he said he did not hear Terry make a racist remark to Anton Ferdinand, brother of Rio, during the match against the Blues last October QPR at Loftus Road.
Ferdinand later defended his comments on Twitter, posting the following: "What I have said is not a racist term. Is a type of slang used by many when when someone is being fake. That's it."
The FA said in a statement: "The allegation is that the player acted inappropriately and made the game in a row, making remarks that included a reference to ethnicity and / or color and / or race."
Terry also was charged by the FA last week, for improper conduct due to the original comments made towards Anton Ferdinand, by which the Chelsea captain declared that answer.
